Extremely Light on Causes. . .

The introduction states that the stock crashes may have been more a symptom than a cause of the Great Depression, followed by a sentence-length list of the economic conditions that may have made the country vulnerable to such a crash. Soviet Union section questionable

While I'm not sure to what degree the Depression contributed to it, saying that "At the time of the Depression, the Soviet economy was growing steadily, fuelled by intensive investment in heavy industry" seems at best misleading due to the 1930-33 famine. The word "downtown" should be "downturn"

Prizes Be Damned: The Grapes of wrath overshadowing of more legitimate source novel.

Steinbeck's novel, which focuses on a poor family of sharecroppers forced from their home as drought, economic hardship, and changes in the agricultural industry occur during the Great Depression, drew significant inspiration from Whose Names Are Unknown, a novel by journalist Sanora Babb. Babb’s book, based on her firsthand observations of Dust Bowl migrants, was completed before The Grapes of Wrath but remained unpublished until 2004, in part due to Steinbeck’s overwhelming success with a similar narrative. 173.218.3.79 (talk) 00:17, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
